SARASWATHI SADAN - THE CENTRAL LIBRARY

Saraswathi Sadan, the aptly named library of the University is an archituctural elegance spread over and area of 47,000 sq.ft. with modern study area, audio visual room, internet and reprographic faciities.

Saraswathi Sadan is the nerve centre of the entire campus catering to the needs fo the staff and students in full measure with a total investment of over Rs. 11.5 Crores. Saraswathi Sadan contains over 1,57,000 books. The Law library is on of the finest in the country boasting a huge collection of books, legal databases and rare journals.

The networking of the entire campus provides seamless access to all the online databases for simultaneous use by unlimited number of users.

The library has reprographic facilities and attracts an average of over 600 students a day. The entire library is automated, making searching, issuing and returning simpler.

The library is kept open on all working days from 8.30 am to 12.01 am and on holidays from 9.00am to 6.00pm.

Hostels

There are 9 hostels for boys and 5 for girls providing accommodation to over 4000 boys and 2000 girls. SASTRA has always believed in catering to the palate and providing wholesome and balanced nutrition in a hygienic environment. A completetly balanced South & North Indian Vegetarian diet is served in all hostels.

Medical Facilities

'Vaidyanatha Arogyasala' the in-house hospital with 10 beds and regulardoctors caters to the medical needs of the students. Two fulltime doctors, one resident doctor besides adequate paramedical staff are available at the hospital.

Other Facilities

In addition to the above facilities, the entire campus is connected with a 1 Gbps Wi-Fi internet connection as also houses a Post Office, a Higginbothams Bookstore, a Bank with ATM facilities and a couple of Canteens.
